Bio:
Julie Bergfeld helps mid-life men and women feel younger by changing their relationship with food, movement and mindfulness. Through her signature SOAR methodology, Julie guides her clients to lasting success.
An accomplished marathon and ultra-marathon runner, she was once the USATF Women’s 50K Trail champion. The cumulative stress to both body and mind took its toll and she vowed to learn to heal herself. Although her degrees in French Literature and Journalism hadn’t prepared her for it, as an avid learner she became a Human Potential coach, Certified Personal Trainer, Yoga Teacher, Nutritionist and Human Movement Specialist in addition to being a Certified Tiny Habits coach. Ultimately, she founded her own yoga studio Metro Power Yoga where she applied all her wisdom and which was considered THE place for athletes to chill out.
Julie has been a guest on the Mindful Money and Stories of Change and Creativity podcasts and a guest expert on several Tiny Habits Academy Panels. She is a sought-after teacher, workshop facilitator and speaker on topics related to sustenance, mindset, movement and sleep.

Questions and Topics I Might Cover:
Many people poo-poo meditation and say they can’t do it. How can someone brand new to mindfulness feel successful?
Julie will share some “tiny tips,” based on the Tiny Habits methodology, to get anyone started with mindfulness and meditation. It’s not about how much you do that makes a habit stick, but how you feel about what you do that matters.
Most nutritionist and trainers feel losing weight is a matter of eating less and moving more, I don’t get the idea that you feel the same way. Can you explain your methodology?
Julie will share her 4-pronged SOAR methodology that helps her clients move through their weight-loss journey with ease. Remember that we change best by feeling good about ourselves, not by feeling bad.
Many people on social media are now claiming you can age in reverse? How is that possible ? What do you think?
Well that’s not really something you can do, but you can slow the signs of aging and feel younger as a result. I’d say the number one thing to prioritize is your recovery, which is really sleep. 7-9 hours for an adult is recommended and needed by healthy men and women. and no, you can’t “bank” your sleep and expect the same results as when you get 7-9 hours every night.
Many trainers claim that stretching and foam rolling is a key to better performance. Based on your background, do you agree?
There is no best way to improve performance. The best way is the way that you can approach things so that you can be consistent and excited about doing it based on your goals.
Many people I meet are unfulfilled in their careers. What is one way someone might pivot from a corporate career to starting a business?
Julie will share how her educational background and family set her up for starting her own yoga studio, but it took her five years to finally break free from self-sabotaging fear.
You discovered that you have one copy of the APOE4 gene that causes a higher risk of Alzheimer’s. Many people would see that as a given destiny, but I don’t get the sense that’s your view. Can you tell me your thoughts?
Julie will share how she sees genetic “faults” as opportunities to put all of her knowledge and coaching skills into action. Since she learned she also has an auto-immune disorder – Celiac Disease – she is adept at navigating challenging life circumstances and chooses to be a creator rather than a victim of cards she has been dealt.
What You Can Expect From Me as Your Coach

As your coach, I will look beyond the symptoms and see the full picture. I’ll help you uncover the subtle patterns, limiting beliefs, and ingrained habits that quietly hold you back so you can make sustainable shifts and create lasting transformation.
You’ll get honest feedback, practical tools, and steady support. But most importantly, you’ll build the skills and self-trust to keep thriving long after our time together ends.
My Commitment to You:

Ready to feel like yourself again — and even better?
Your well-being matters, and change is possible.
Let’s talk about the path that’s right for you.
Professional Background & Experience
Before becoming a coach, I worked in technology and academia, with degrees in Journalism (M.A., University of Missouri-Columbia) and French Literature (B.A., Washington University in St. Louis), until burnout pushed me to redefine success on my own terms.
That shift led me to found a yoga studio, become a dedicated movement specialist, and deepen my practice as an endurance athlete and meditator. I’ve also been a passionate runner and marathoner for more than 35 years.
Today, my approach blends extensive professional training with lived experience in navigating physical and mental health, performance, and change. Every part of my journey—the setbacks, the rigorous training, and the wins—has shaped the insight, compassion, and persistence I bring to every client.
You’re not here to settle for “fine.” You’re here to feel strong in your body, confident in your choices, and fully alive in your life.
I’m here to help you do exactly that.
